Joseph W. Sharp, 91 years of age, of Covington, Kentucky, left his loved ones at his home on January 14, 2007. The cause of death was lymphoma. He was a former resident of Pendleton County and was the youngest child of Sally and Joseph Sharp of Broadford Pike. Mr. Sharp was married to Katherin Colvin Sharp for 69 years, who survives him. They were former members of the Falmouth Methodist Church. Their children; Joanna Layton, Phillip Sharp and Sandra Milburn were educated in Pendleton County schools. Mr. Sharp farmed for many years in the county before becoming an employee of Pepsi-Cola in Covington. As a member of the Ashland Avenue Baptist Church, he enjoyed singing in the choir and the fellowship of many friends. Mr. Sharp retired in 1976 and traveled to visit his children and friends.

The family celebrated his 90th birthday with a pig roast at the Layton Home. Several friends from the county attended and Mr. and Mrs. Sharp deeply appreciated talking with everyone again.

Mr. Sharp attended Falmouth High School for several years where he played football, basketball, and baseball. He married Katherin Colvin, daughter of Nora and Clark Colvin from McKennysburg on Christmas Day in 1937 and they spent many years farming at the Colvin homestead in that area. The family subsequently moved to the farm near the Bethel intersection US 27. Mr. Sharp was the youngest in his family and his siblings, Mildred, Winston, and Roger preceded him. He is survived by his children, eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
