Anna Kathern Godman

Anna Kathern Herron Godman, 75, of Berry, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2008, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Born on February 19, 1933 in Harrison County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Lum and Iva Moore Herron. She married David Ray Godman, and her husband preceded her in death on August 28, 1990. She was a graduate of Harrison County High School. Anna was a retired letter carrier for the United States Postal Service in Berry, Kentucky. She served her community for 30 years. She was a member of the Berry Lady Lions Club for 31 years. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Harold (Dutch) Godman and her father-in-law, William (Doc) Godman. She is survived by her daughter, Carlotta Lee Godman Whitaker; her grandson, Russell Gray David Whitaker; her sister, Doris Lynn Herron Florence and brother-in-law, Marvin E. Florence, Jr., all of Berry, Kentucky; her brother Harold Herron and sister-in-law, Betsy Carol Prows Herron of Cynthiana, Kentucky; an aunt, Gertrude Moore of Berry, Kentucky; her brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Carolyn Godman of Berry, Kentucky; her sister-in-law, Judy Godman of Williamstown, Kentucky; her mother-in-law, Katheryn Godman of Cynthiana, Kentucky; 6 nieces, 6 nephews; 6 great nieces; and 12 great nephews; along with a host of many dear friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at the Woodhead Funeral Home, Berry, with Bro. Larry Jones officiating. The pallbearers will be Mike Burton, Joe Clark, James Alan Cloe, Doug Dunn, Ed Fogle, and Eddie Million. The honorary pallbearers will be Gene Adams, Barry Brown, Roscoe Dunn, Mike Howard, Jarrod Mullins, Red Mullins, Randy Milner, David Pickett, and Todd Goodrich. The visitation will be on Friday from 5-9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place in the Pythian Grove Cemetery, Berry.
