Glendon T. Ramsey, 73, of Butler, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2008, at the V.A. Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born on August 22, 1934 in Pendleton County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Ercel Lee and Hildred Elizabeth Cummins Ramsey. He married Patsy Louise Yelton Ramsey and his dear wife preceded him in death on November 17, 2003. He was a retired mail carrier for Rt. #1, Butler, Kentucky with the U.S. Postal Service for 22 years. From 1952 – 1956, he served in the U.S. Navy, working as a telecommunicator. "Glen" served as mayor of Butler from 1975 – 1983, treasurer and dispatcher of the Butler Fire Department from 1965 – 2003, and a Butler City Councilman from 1986 to 2006. He was a deacon of the Butler Christian Church, where he had been a member since 1961, a Kentucky Colonel, and a former member of the Good Sam Angels of Northern Kentucky. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his sister, Reba Fern Ramsey in 1971, Shelby Lee Ramsey in 1992, and his son-in-law, David Barnett in 2004. He is survived by three daughters: Deborah Faith Barnett of Falmouth, Kentucky, Glenna Hope Roseberry of Butler, Kentucky, and Alisha Lynn Straub of Butler, Kentucky; 5 grandchildren: Michael Barnett, A.J. Roseberry, Hollie Roseberry, Cory Straub, and Nathan Straub; one great granddaughter, Haley Jane Barnett; a future grandchild on August 1; sister, Marcella Louise Latimer of Falmouth, Kentucky; and a brother, Clayton Foster Ramsey of Falmouth, Kentucky. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at the Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth, with Bro. John Losey officiating. The visitation will be on Tuesday, March 18, 2008, from 4-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place in the Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth, with full military honors by the Hardin- Browning Post #109.
