Harry C. Ramsey December 18, 1927 - June 5, 2011 Harry C. Ramsey, 83, of Falmouth, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2011, at his home, surrounded by his family and friends. Born in Bracken County on December 18, 1927, he was a son of the late Virgil and Nicey Teegarden Ramsey. On October 14, 1947, he married Rose Mary Clifford, and his dear wife survives his passing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters: Dorothy (Dot) Clifford, Kathleen (Kitty) Barnard, Nancy (Nanny) Jenkins and a brother, Earl (Jr.) Ramsey. Harry was a member of the Oakland Christian Church, Pendleton County and he faithfully served his country in the U.S Army. For most of their married life, Harry and Rose Mary lived in Pendleton County and they farmed their land together. Harry was a dedicated farmer, with a passion for burley tobacco, beef and dairy cattle, horses, and John Deere tractors. For him a long day on the farm was a day well spent. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend. In addition to his wife of 63 years, Rose Mary Clifford Ramsey, he is survived by seven children: Colleen (Danny) Flynn, Allen (Dianna) Ramsey, Diana (David) Monroe, Curtis (Judy) Ramsey, Keith (Bonnie) Ramsey, Lesa (Ricky) Figgins, and Tony (Lisa) Ramsey; 16 grandchildren: Laura (Nick) Simpson, Brian (Karla) Flynn, Ashley (Bob) Turner, Ethan (Amanda) Ramsey, Lyndsey (J.T.) Teegarden, Austin Monroe, Jennifer , Douglas, and Matthew Ramsey, Chase, Nathan, and Cory Ramsey, Zachary and Joshua Figgins, and Audrey Ramsey and Butch Burberry; a step granddaughter, Cassie (James) Gamble; 8 great grandchildren: Blake and Joseph Simpson, Garrett Flynn, Dean Turner, Madylen Ramsey, Addyson Teegarden, Gracie Ramsey, and Curtie Wells; four step great grandchildren: Christian, Jacob, Joshua, and Julie Gamble; three brothers, Melvin (Mug) Ramsey, Eugene (Pete) Ramsey, and Raymond (P. John) Ramsey; and one sister, Geraldine (Gerby) Cummins. and a host of extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2011, at the Oakland Christian Church, 149 Oakland Church Road, Falmouth, Kentucky 41040, with Bro. John Byard officiating. Music will be shared by Joy Bound with accompaniment by Barbara Browning. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons: Brian, Ethan, Zac, Josh, Austin, Doug, Matthew, Chase, Nathan, Cory, and Butch. The honorary pallbearers will be Bob Bertram, Kenny Whitaker, Melvin Ramsey, Eugene Ramsey, and Raymond Ramsey, Dorothy Skidmore, Benny Bruin, Gary Bruin, Beryl Mattox, and John Keal. The visitation will be from 5-9:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth. Interment will take place in the Oakland Cemetery, Pendleton County, with full military honors by the Hardin- Browning Post #109. Memorials are suggested to the Oakland Christian Church, the Parkinson’s Association, or the charity of your choice.
