Jacob Clay Hamm Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Jacob Clay Hamm, 27, of Folkston, GA, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2012, at his home. Born on August 8, 1984, in Harrison County, Kentucky, he was the son of Sandra Burch and Steve Hamm. He graduated from Woodford County High School, and he was the lead stocker with Harvey’s Supermarket in Folkston, GA. Formerly, he worked at Hamm’s Painting, Inc. in Georgetown, KY. He loved painting, especially restoring old buildings in Folkston, and he was an avid University of Kentucky fan. Jacob was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jackie Steven Hamm, and his great grandmother, Pauline Williams. In addition to his mother, Sandra (Dwain) Burch of Folkston, GA, and his father, Steve (Amanda) Hamm of Georgetown, KY, he is survived by his son, Kent Jacob Hamm; his sister, Christin (Geoff) Saylor of Cynthiana, KY; his brother, Franz “C.J.” Wellington of Georgetown, KY; his grandparents: Betty (Dennis) Perkins of Jamaica, VA, Wanda Newman of Georgetown, KY, and Jeanie Hornsby of Deltaville, VA; his nieces and nephews: Keynan Hamilton, Brooklynn Gaunce, Hunter Gaunce, Matthew Saylor, Kelsey Saylor, and a host of extended family and friends who also loved him deeply. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2012, at the Woodhead Funeral Home, Berry, with Rev. Larry Jones officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Keith Wells, Robin Perkins, Eli Hopkins, Paul Hamm, David Hamm, Johnny Turner, Dean O’Brien, David Kearns, and Jimmy Howard. The visitation will be from 11-1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will take place in the Pythian Grove Cemetery, Berry.
