Richard Herman Feldmann

December 6, 1925 - February 11, 2012

Richard Feldmann, 86, of Findlay, Ohio and formerly of Marion, Ohio passed from this life at his home on February 11, 2012, surrounded by family members. He was born December 6, 1925, in Newport, Kentucky to the late Herman and Mary Feldman. Richard graduated from St. Joseph’s Prep School in Bardstown, Kentucky in 1942. He worked for his father’s Newport Dairy in Newport, Kentucky and then enlisted in the Navy. He later began employment with the Isaly Dairy in Columbus, Ohio, followed by promotion to plant manager of the Isaly Dairy in Marion, Ohio. He then worked at The Marion Insurance Company as office manager until he retired in 1994. Richard was a faithful parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Marion and had been a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Vincent De Paul Society as well as a fervent supporter of fundraisers for Marion St. Mary’s Elementary and Marion Catholic High Schools. In 1952, Richard was married to Ella C. Malloy in Bellevue, Kentucky and she preceded him in death on September 18, 2008. He was preceded in death by sisters Louella Robinson and Virginia Lorenz and infant brother Harold Feldman. He is survived by sisters, Harriet Roth and Charlotte Vogel, and twin Nicholas (Mary) Feldman, William (Bernice) Feldman, and Thomas (Eileen) Feldman. Also surviving are eight children which include Stephen (Susan) Feldmann, Philip Feldmann, Martin (Collette) Feldmann, Eric Feldmann, all of Columbus, Mary (Gordon) Estlack and Laura (Stephen) Mills of Findlay, Rebecca (Daniel) Boesenberg of Waynesville and Mark (Teresa) Feldmann of Marion. Grandchildren include Stephanie (Mike) Domek, Gregory (Jordan), Richard and Shannon Mills; Kyle (Kim), Jessica and Danielle Feldmann; Reilly, Conor, Bridget and Eric Feldmann; Matthew, Michael and Mark Feldmann and Nicholas and Grace Feldmann. Family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Woodhead Funeral Home, 310 W. Shelby St., Falmouth, Kentucky. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 18, 2012, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 202 Second St. in Falmouth, Kentucky. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery, Falmouth. Memorial contributions may be made to Marion Catholic – St. Mary’s Schools, St. Vincent de Paul Society and/or the Pro-Life movement.
