Ida Mildred Powell

Ida Mildred Powell, 89, of Falmouth passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at St. Elizabeth, Ft. Thomas, Ky. Born on May 19, 1922 in Harrison County, KY; she was the daughter of Charlie Henry Turner and Gracie Simpson (Whalen) Turner. She was a member of Oakland Christian Church, member of Pendleton Historical Society, and a Kentucky Colonel. Preceding her in death was her husband of 62 years, Joseph Earl Powell, a daughter Brenda Crosthwaite, two grandchildren Leslie Krutzkamp, Jason Harding, and one great grandchild Austin Abrams. She is survived by two daughters and seven sons: Larry (Patty) Powell of Falmouth, KY; Danny (Linda) Powell of Ft. Thomas, KY; Linda (Bill) Lindsey of South Haven, MS; Jack (Beverly) Powell of Falmouth, KY; Darrell (Judy) Powell of Middletown, OH; Charlie Powell of Falmouth, KY; Marty Powell of Falmouth, KY; Monty Powell of Falmouth, KY, and Melissa (Louie) Krutzkamp of California, KY, 21 grandchildren Jacob Crosthwaite, Kim (David) Abrams, Peggy (Rick) Brown¸ David (Debbie) Powell, Rebecca Mitchell, Tracie Simpson, Amanda (Jeremy) Miller, Megan (Jeremy) Hamilton, Shawn (Amanda) Moore, Zoey Powell, Jody (Pauline) Powell, Chris Powell, Amber (Josh) Kaneakalau, Jon Powell, Josh Powell, Jeremy Powell, Kevin Powell, Janessa Powell, Zachery Powell, Carolyn Krutzkamp, and Michael Krutzkamp, 19 great grandchildren, Jordan Turley, Travis Reis, Joe Powell, Greg Powell, Henry and Daniel Mitchell, Ashley Spradlin, Morgan Abrams, Hailee Simpson, Mya Hamilton, Aiden Kaneakalau, Kailyn Powell, Austin Powell, Alicia Powell, Jaylee-Ann King, Zaiden Maston, Allie, Abby, and Annie Moore, and one great great granddaugther Gracie Reis. Visitation will be Sunday, September 4th from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Woodhead Funeral Home in Falmouth. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 5th at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery at Oakland Christian Church, Pendleton County, Ky. Pallbearers will be her seven sons. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Mays, David Pribble, Henry Bertram, Will Browning, Douglas Harper, Charlie Herron, Barry Cordary, Shelby McDowell, Edwin Fogle, and Bill Cahill.
