Justin Daniel Hitch

Justin Daniel Hitch, 25, of Highland Heights , KY, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at University Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. He was born on August 15, 2000, to Daniel Hitch and Amy Hagemeyer. He was a carefree spirit. Firstborn and a Leo, he plowed his own path with no regrets and no one's permission. Never fearing a consequence, he set out to do things his own way. He loved adventure, adrenaline, and his family! As the firstborn with a flair for adventure, he and his mother shared a quirky sense of humor, giving spirit, and unconditional love for all. His father shared his love for hunting, camouflage, and firearms. They bonded over adventures outdoors, always looking forward to the next hunting season. His relationship with his siblings was typical for three people so close in age and sharing toys, games, and a bathroom. There were fights, there were ups and downs, and plenty of outbursts. It was only acceptable if Justin was the one bullying them, he would protect them just as quickly as he'd insult them. Justin loved the outdoors and wind therapy. The day only got better if there was also a furry friend to cuddle; always rescuing animals or bringing home a dog without permission. His love for things smaller or weaker than him, shows his great compassion and his soft heart. He had a heart of gold. He could be down on his luck, smoking his last Marlboro, and give you his only five dollars. He gave even when he didn't have much to give. He always carried a flashlight, maybe a symbolic reminder to us that he was a constant source of light, a brightness that won’t die. He was a hopeless romantic, loving the idea of love. If you were lucky enough to be his friend, you already know about the cats, he claimed as his children, Frank and Ana. Justin passed as we would hope all do, doing something he enjoyed, happy and healthy. His life was too short, but it was lived his way. He was a carefree spirit, an adventurer, a son, a brother, and a friend. He was fiercely loved and will be fiercely missed. Surviving to remember and honor Justin are his mother Amy Hagemeyer, his father Danny and Sidney Hitch; his siblings: Jacob Hitch, Carleigh Hitch, KelliAnn Hagemeyer, Cody Nelson, Hailey Volz, and Dylan McElfresh; maternal grandparents: Richard and Deborah MacCallum Hagemeyer; paternal grandparents: Ronnie Hitch, Sr. and Janice Ignatovich; several aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends. Visitation will be held from 9-11 am on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth, with a graveside service at Lenoxburg Cemetery, Bracken County, following at 12 noon. Following the burial, the family invites all to a reception at St. Francis Xavier Church Hall, 202 Second Street, Falmouth, KY 41040. Box 166, Falmouth, KY 41040, to support the S’Neuter Clinic for cats in Justin’s memory to commemorate his love for animals.
