Zechariah Lee Gregg

Zechariah Lee Gregg, 25, of Falmouth, KY, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025 at the Bourbon Community Hospital in Paris, KY. Born on May 17, 1999, he was a son of Jackie Gregg Cornett and the late Troy Gregg. Zech’s soul was an old one, perfectly captured, at the age of 16, in this high school photograph. Naturally gifted at sports, he and his father practiced faithfully until his baseball game was at it’s best. Though he lost his father far too early, he always cherished the many memories they shared. We, today, share Zech’s memory, who likewise has left us in the summer of his life. As we take him to his rest today, we have endless, happy memories to assuage the pain of his absence. Zech was a friend to many, but his family remained the central focus of his love and energy. His Mom, Jackie, sister, Desiree, and brother, Brandon constituted the safe harbor he could always return to; and he loved being an uncle to Gabe, Lily and Lexi. It was his own precious little family, however, that became the essence of a consummate joy. Zech’s life partner, Brooke, and his beautiful children, Troy and Zoey, were what gave his life meaning; and it was for and through them that he truly lived. So, above anything else, Zech was a family man. He had too many friends to list, but each understood the concept of loyalty through the example Zech set for them. Zech was at once kind and brave, playful and serious, happy and sad, helpful, yet resistant to asking for help. He was many things altogether, but his supreme virtue was love. All who knew him understood this above all else. It’s not quite enough to say he will be missed; but rather to shout that he will live forever in our hearts. “What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us.” So, Zech, we will not say goodbye, but rather, farewell, at daybreak, when the shadows flee, we’ll see you again. He is survived by his mother, Jackie (Tom) Cornett, his children, Zoey and Troy Gregg, a brother, Brandon (Kasey) Waechtler, a sister, Desiree (Amos) Richardson, a nephew, Gabe, 2 nieces, Lily and Lexi, the love of his life Brooke Aulick and the rest of the Aulick Family, and his extended Gregg family. He was preceded in death by his dad, Troy Gregg. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025 from 4-6 P.M. at Woodhead Funeral Home in Falmouth. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Zech Gregg Memorial Fund at any Truist Bank location for the benefit of his children, Zoey and Troy.
