Leslie Wayne Fields, 88, of Walton, KY, formerly of the Mt. Auburn area in Pendleton County, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015, at his home. Born in Pendleton County on March 25, 1926, he was a son of the late Gus and Venna Records Fields. He retired from the University of Kentucky Maintenance Department. Leslie was a former appliance repairman with Sears & Roebuck , a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a Peace Corps volunteer from 1989 – 1990, a 41 year member of the Covington Lodge #109, F & A M, and a member of the Northern Kentucky Bluegrass Association. He is survived by three children: Marc (Sandi) Fields of Erlanger, KY, Wayne Fields of Walton, KY, and Connie Sapp of Warsaw, KY; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and a half-sister, Mary Neumeister of Walton, KY; several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends. Friends and family are invited to gather from 1-3:00 p.m., on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at the Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth. Interment will follow in the Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Pendleton County, with full military honors by the Hardin-Browning Post #109. Memorials are suggested to the Redwood Rehabilitation Center, 71 Orphanage Road, Ft. Mitchell, KY 41017
