Manda Ballard Shepperd Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Manda Ballard Shepperd, 73, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2008, at her home. Born on October 17, 1934 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Corda Walters Ballard. She married Harold Edwin Shepperd, and her dear husband preceded her in death on April 10, 2005. In addition to her parents, and her husband of 55 years, she was also preceded in death by two sisters: Garnett Clark and Mary Clark; and one brother, James Ballard. Manda was a dedicated member of the Gardnersville Christian Church, Pendleton County, where she attended for almost 40 years. She loved to cook and enjoyed playing cards and sewing. Manda was an inspiration to all who knew her. Surviving are her daughter, Connie Fightmaster of Gardnersville, Kentucky; her four sons: Paul Shepperd of Gardnersville, Kentucky, Phillip Shepperd of Crittenden, Kentucky, Mark Shepperd of Dry Ridge, Kentucky, and Joseph E. Shepperd, Sr. of Manchester, Kentucky; 4 grandsons; 5 granddaughters; 4 great grandchildren; two sisters: Ruby Clark of Taylor Mill, Kentucky and Opal Lipscomb of Independence, Kentucky; her mother-in-law, Dessie Wright Shepperd of Falmouth, Kentucky, and a host of extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2008, at the Gardnersville Christian Church, with Bro. Paul Stamper, Bro. Dave Huddleston, Bro. Tom Knipfer, and Arnold Ross officiating. The visitation will be from 10-1:00 p.m. on Saturday preceding the service at her church. Interment will take place in the Gardnersville Cemetery, Pendleton County, with a horse-drawn procession to the grave.
