Robert Lyman Boggess, 80, husband of Alta Mae Poe Boggess, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. died Thursday, April 12, 2007. Dr. Boggess was born November 21, 1926 in Falmouth, KY, son of the late Cecil Raymond Boggess and Hallie Mae McClanahan Boggess. He graduated from Falmouth High School and attended Clemson University. He graduated from the University of Kentucky with a master's degree in electrical engineering and from the University of Michigan with a P.H.D. in Aeronautical physics. He served in US Air Force during WWII and worked for the Air Force as an electrical engineer. Dr. Boggess designed the observatory on Maui, HI for the Univrsity of Michigan.
