Emogene Jones

Emogene Jones May 12, 1923 - November 22, 2015 Emogene Weaver Jones, 92, of Winter Springs, FL, formerly of Falmouth, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2015, in Florida. Born on May 12, 1923 in Mill Springs, KY, she was a daughter of the late Leslie Vernon and Dora Rector Reynolds. In 1942, she graduated from Wayne County High School in Monticello, KY. She was preceded in death by husbands, Charles M. Weaver, whom she married on December 24, 1948 and preceded her in death on March 7, 1965, and Russell W. Jones, whom she married on October 10, 1971 and preceded her in death on April 15, 2009. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked in a factory in Cincinnati, OH during WWII, and she worked at the former Moreland Drug Store in Falmouth for 16 years. Emogene was a resident of Falmouth from 1948 to 1983, when she moved to Sanford, Florida. She attended the Falmouth Baptist Church and the Pinecrest Baptist Church in Sanford, FL. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, church, sports, books and music. In addition to her parents and spouses, she was also preceded in death by her son, Ronald C. Weaver on July 22, 2015; her sisters: Violet Reynolds and Ruth Waddle; and her brother, Ray Reynolds. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Roger M. and Jean Ann Weaver of Winter Springs, FL; her grandchildren: Kristin L. Weaver of Sanford, FL, Sarah (Matt) Warr of Mt. Dora, FL, and Jacob M. Weaver of Winter Springs, FL; her great grandchildren: Willow and Kai Scheuring of Sanford, FL; her daughter-in-law, Katherine Weaver of Sanford, FL; her brother, Robert Reynolds of Dell Valle, TX; her step children: Terry S. (Linda) Jones of Independence, KY and Marcella Wood of Burlington, KY; her step grandchildren: Jeff Jones, Tara Jones, Sondra Jones, Casey Jones, and Cody Jones. A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2015, at the Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth. Friends and family are invited to gather from 11-12:45 p.m. at the Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth prior to the service at the cemetery.
