Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Spence

Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Spence, 54, of Alexandria, KY, formerly of Falmouth, KY, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2020, at St. Elizabeth Health Care in Ft. Thomas, KY. Born on June 21, 1966 in Covington, she was a daughter of John Daniel and Mary Ann Trenkamp Kappes of Independence, KY. A graduate of Notre Dame Academy in Park Hills, Beth married Tony Spence on June 22, 1991, and together they embraced life’s journey loving the Lord, their family and friends, and their lives. For 29 years, she and Tony have lived their faith while pastoring two churches: Alexandria First Assembly Church and Chapel of Praise in Falmouth. Always thankful for the people they met and the experiences they shared, Beth and Tony were a dynamic duo, always choosing to love life, to find hope in whatever situation they faced, and to brighten the lives of others. Beth loved everything about traveling and in 2017, she was thrilled to be part of her first mission trip outside the continental United States, visiting Romania, where she ministered to young children. For over 20 years, Beth worked as a dental assistant with Dr. William Verax and Dr. Grady Gibson. In addition to her husband and best friend, Tony, and her parents, Beth is survived by her son Jacob (Caylea) Spence of Batavia, OH; her daughter Rebekah (James) Wilbers of Alexandria, KY; her sister Johanna (Karl) Chalk of Independence, KY; her brothers: Daniel (Sherry) Kappes of Independence, KY, Eddy (Tonya) Kappes of Southgate, KY, and Michael (Megan) of Ft. Mitchell, KY; several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends. Beth is a grandmother of a grandson due in November 2020. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, September 5, 2020, at Alexandria First Assembly Church: 9126 Alexandria Pike, Alexandria, KY 41001. The visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Friday, September 4, 2020, at her church. Interment will take place in the Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth.
