Violet Kathleen Buckler Stone

Violet Kathleen Buckler Stone, 92, of Berry, KY, passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Health Care in Edgewood, KY. Born on June 29, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Alford and Roxie Robertson Buckler. She married Harold Ross Stone, and her dear husband preceded her in death on November 12, 1999. Violet devoted her life to family, faith, and friends. She had a unique blend of quick wit, good humor, plain-spoken conversation, wrapped up in the most genuine kindness, compassion, and hospitality, all of which served her well as a mother and as a waitress at Noble’s Truck Stop in Corinth. It was there she met Bob Seger and crew, leaving quite an impression and receiving autographs, a shirt, and some incredible memories. Violet fed many, and her door was always open to extend a helping hand. She was a member of Stringtown Christian Church, and she supported causes which feed children and care for paralyzed veterans. Shepherd’s Chapel in Arkansas was near and dear to her heart. She will be missed by all who were blessed to know her. In addition to her parents and husband, Violet was preceded in death by a daughter, Eudora Stone McFarland on December 18, 1979; a son Garylin Ross (Stoney) Stone on May 20, 2020; a grandson Robert Mitchell on March 19, 2021; brothers: Maryland Buckler and Everett Buckler; and a sister Evelyn Rolph. Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughter Deanna Stone of Berry; her daughter-in-law, Glenda Reed Stone of Dry Ridge; 6 grandchildren: Tod Bedford, Monika Bedford Fryman (Scott), Carl Ross Stophlet (April), Nicki Barker, David Stone, and Kelly McFarland; 12 great grandchildren: Joseph Alexander Bedford, Ashley Bedford, Carlie Greer (Dallas), Autumn Kathleen Fryman, Kullen Fryman, Caine Michael Stophlet, William Raymond Stophlet, Katelyn Ashcraft, Summer Turner, Ben Barker, Erin Barker, and Elizabeth Barker; several great great grandchildren; 4 siblings: Raymond Buckler (Kay) of Loveland, OH, Gladys Edwards of Williamstown, Donald Buckler (Wilma) of Taylor Mill, and Gwen Mayer of Frenchburg, KY; dear friends: Rudy and Rose Dunn, Christine Antrobus, and Jim Wilson; and a host of extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, August 6, 2021, at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth, with Bro. Howard Chipman officiating. The visitation will be from 12-2 pm on Friday preceding her service. Interment will take place in the Pythian Grove Cemetery in Berry. In honor of Violet, please wear purple.
